Protecting the ozone layer in Seychelles under the Montreal Protocol.

Protecting the Ozone Layer#

The Ozone Unit sits within the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Seychelles. Our work delivers on Seychelles' commitments under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

We regulate ozone-depleting substances, monitor the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) sector, and run a public-awareness programme on ozone layer protection and climate change.

What we do#

  • Implement Montreal Protocol obligations through national policy and law.
  • License imports and exports of controlled substances.
  • Train and certify RAC technicians.
  • Coordinate with the Multilateral Fund on phase-down projects.
  • Run public-awareness and outreach campaigns.

Get involved#

  • Submit a confidential report of suspected illegal trade in ozone-depleting substances via our secure reporting form.
  • Browse the latest reports and policy documents on Downloads.
  • Read our news for updates on Montreal Protocol activities.
